Family Vacation to Assateague Island

Our trip was suppose to start on Friday... as we were hours behind schedule leaving, the car was loaded, we were finally on our way, a mile from home and ...the car suddenly died. My friend Chris came to our rescue and drove me and the kids home to get Randy's truck. Randy with help from above was able to start the car and get it to our street before it died again. He then towed it up the street where he began to diagnose the issue. Again with divine intervention he was able to find the problem, locate the part, and install it. It is crazy that such a little thing can cause such an inconvenience.

Early Saturday am we departed to Maryland.

This was the check-in building, and we were so excited to finally be arriving and a beautiful day too!!!

We hit the beach on Assateague Island State Park.
I had to put this picture in because I truly loath these birds. Over the coarse of my life I have been their target too many times and they just scare me.

Riley loved the beach, and was even starting to get used to the sand. She really loved the water. She is a water baby.

We saw some of the wild ponies. This was right on the road by the parking area.

They were so beautiful.

After the beach. Dylan wasn't water logged enough and him and I visited the water park that was in the campground. We had fun going down the slides and going around the lazy river.

Randy was very creative at entertaining Riley as it was past her bed time and she was ready to go.

Heavy rains hit on Sunday, so we enjoyed sight seeing from the car on the other end of Assateague Island - Chincoteague.

This is the first Lighthouse I can remember visiting.

I did a photo shoot with Riley to update things, and I must say she is totally adorable.

First Day of School

Brandon started 8th grade, his last year at the Middle School.

Dylan started 4th grade.Dylan and his best buddy from across the street.

Brandon's Back to School Event

The week before school started, Brandon had a backyard back to school get together with his friends.

We did an outdoor movie - Avatar.

We brought the Wii outside too.

Brandon had a great time hanging out with his friends.

Labor Weekend in Virginia

We enjoyed a day at a Randy's Aunt's private beach in Virginia. Great weather, great company, and always great food.

Randy's dad was able to get a jet ski for the day...lots of fun for the kids. Riley had fun in the water with her daddy and great Aunt Dawna.
